Collection: Books
The Saint Austin Press publishes Catholic works that deserve to stay in print: the masterpieces of hagiography, liturgy and Scripture commentary, alongside literature from the English Catholic revival. Every title here is a complete edition rather than an abridgement — reset where the old type had worn out, printed on paper chosen to last, and bound to be opened many times over many years.
Some are reprints of the definitive twentieth-century texts, such as the full 1956 Butler's Lives of the Saints in four volumes. Others are the first newly typeset editions in generations, such as Guéranger's fifteen-volume Liturgical Year. What they share is that the edition matters as much as the text: which translation, which printing, which apparatus, and how the book behaves in the hand.
Print runs are small and several titles are strictly limited. When a book sells through it is not always reprinted, so what appears below is what is genuinely available now.
